Over the summer, I had the privilege to attend a STEMSS Institute through the Arizona Geographic Alliance at ASU and was able to publish a GeoLiteracy lesson relevant to my students about human migration! It ties in perfectly with our human rights unit and novel Esperanza Rising! All lessons are available for free online and the students had a blast mapping the route Esperanza's family took from Aguascalientes, Mexico to California. I also had the privilege to be able to present this lesson at the annual GeoConference in September!
