The Three Branches of Government

We learned a fun and high paced game to help us remember the three branches of government! My parents used to play this game when they worked with kids, and it was named Fruit Basket Upset. Someone is in the middle without a chair and everyone else sits around them. They yell a fruit and if you were assigned that same fruit you have to get our of your seat and run to another empty one! We did the same thing except with the three branches of government: executive, legislative, and judicial. If the person in the middle said something that pertained to each group (made laws, judges laws, vetoes laws, president, cabinet, senate, house, etc....) then you had to remember which branch these key words coincide with to be able to leave your seat and find a new one! Last one to find a seat ends up in the middle! The class had a blast and I could really see the branches making sense to them!
