Under Pressure

As part of our Social Emotional Learning, we had a class discussion on peer pressure today. I spiraled back to our unit on human rights, and tied in Number the Stars. Our discussion began with how not all of the members of Germany and Nazi youth programs agreed with what Hitler was doing and felt pressured to join or conform to save themselves. Propaganda and media play a huge part in influencing our decisions and desires to fit in. We are writing personal narratives about times we felt pressured by the people around us - sometimes the people we are closest to. The students came up with some really amazing ideas. I want to thank @teachandtransform for the wonderful inspiration behind this idea!
