#NTI: New Teacher Induction!
This week, all new teachers of the district have been taking part in Professional Development sessions involving a variety of topics that will help us give our all the first few weeks of school! Cartwright School District takes pride in being a PLC (Professional Learning Community) and trains new teachers in the same way to be consistent. Though Hope College prepared me well covering a variety of the same topics, it was nice to be refreshed the week before we return to our school sites and meet with our grade level teams to collaborate ideas for the best possible practices and ways our students will learn.
We received our district policies and technology, reviewed general norms and employee handbook regulations, and covered the following educational topics:
-Building Relationships
-Routines and Procedures
-Being Reflective Practitioners
-Rules and Consequences
-Meeting our Mentors!
-MTSS: Multi-Tiered System of Supports
-Classroom Management Plans
-Gaining a master's degree
Not only have we been provided a copious amount of educational topics, we also bonded as a new staff of Spitalny! I am so excited to be teaching alongside of these lovely ladies :)
We attend professional development because we are [lifelong learners] which we want to teach our students to be as well!
