Today we are celebrating Constitution Day! Mr. Halley had some connections with some attorneys here who were willing to speak to our classes! Once we learned some new vocabulary like jury, defense, prosecution, rights (Miranda Rights), and "innocent until proven guilty", we had our own mock trial! Katniss Everdeen was brought in for questioning and a trial because we were trying to decide if she was guilty of murder by tracker jacker bees! Half of the group was the defense for Katniss, and half of the class was the prosecution. There were some great ideas discussed about whether she was innocent or not! It was a really fun day. Thank you Ms. Elyse and Ms. Leah!

SO....Was Katniss innocent or was she guilty???
