Fifth-Grade Graduation!!!

Today's the big day; it is time for some goodbyes. It is so hard for me to write this post because I know it will be the last one with my first group of students. This year has been unforgettable and we have made some incredible memories. I have seen all of these students grow tremendously in so many ways - after receiving results for our final ELA (reading) and math timed benchmark assessments of the year, I am so proud to announce that so many of us have grown substantially in math (so much that we earned a pizza party!!). Not only that, but everyone has been able to grow in their own reading levels so they can analyze informational texts. We have also become more understanding of each other and those with differences (we miiiiiight all need to take a trip in November to see "Wonder" together). I can't thank them enough for being an incredible family unit. WE DID IT!!! And, as I read to them, they will MOVE MOUNTAINS.

Today we had our promotion celebration and awards ceremony, and dance in the afternoon. Everyone dressed up and looked so nice! Our end of the year balloon board is now officially done and looks so sad! And our room is cleaned up and empty, all ready for summer. It is bittersweet, but they are all on to bigger and better things!!

Meet the teacher:

Bienvenidos! Me llamo Señorita Vandermolen :)
